Jr. Full Stack Shopify Developer - Contract

We are looking for a Junior Full-stack Shopify Developer to join our growing Digital team. This is an incredible opportunity to work on great projects at an explosive-growth start-up.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Experience with the Shopify platform and the out of the box capabilities and components.
  • Be able to work independently, knocking off smaller bugs and features based on priority in sprint/backlog
  • Suggest third party plugins to solve feature implementation needs if unable to create in-house
  • Expertise in solutioning, architecture development, and defining platform components
  • 1-2 years of verifiable experience developing full-stack solutions
  • 1-2 years of experience designing and developing within the Shopify and Shopify Plus platforms
  • Experience with Shopify design elements (themes, templates, components, Java script,HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, 3rd party app integrations, custom build)
  • Superb troubleshooting & debugging skills
  • Interest in staying current and applying the most up-to-date best practices
  • Experience in headless commerce implementations will be plus
  • Able to work in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge in CMS ( Open source or Enterprise scale) will be plus
  • Expertise in REST based implementations with shopify+
  • Experience with Liquid, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript & Customizations
  • Support non-Shopify technical solutions (ie Google Analytics event tracking, A/B testing with Google Optimize).
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
  • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering on scoping and building new features. Communicate tradeoffs in MVP.
  • Provide accurate LOEs for each feature set.
  • Provide feedback/follow requirements from Product Management.
  • Provide feedback/follow wireframes and mockups from User Experience.
  • Take guidance from Full-stack Shopify Developer on the best way to approach given requirements.
  • Collaborate with external and internal resources and partners on technical solutions
  • Brainstorm on multiple ways to build each feature
  • Out of the box thinking

Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years with Shopify, Javascript, HTML/CSS/SASS, PHP, Rest API, GraphQL API, JS SDK, Scripting API and custom theme development
  • Knowledge of git or other version control systems.
  • Knowledge of tailwind css or familiarity with other css libraries.
  • Production experience working with Vue.js or any JS front-end framework
  • Build custom website features and in-house tools from scratch when an out-of-the-box solution is unavailable
  • Experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with working on the command line.
  • Experience with: Shopify (Shopify, html, liquid); Vue.js (javascript) and Tailwind css (css library)
  • Candidates with start-up experience preferred

  • Location: Remote (welcome at breweries in San Diego and Connecticut anytime!)
  • Type: Temporary Contract
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience - Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses. *
